Determine search keywords for your solution - E-Business Success Blueprint Workshop - Part 4

Previous lesson...

Keywords search

I know that this task can be quite challenging particularly if you had not done it before. You need to get on the higher level of thinking if you want to be independent and enjoy what you are doing. You must become a solution provider. Not a reseller or broker. You are the one who is the driving force and the one who comes up with the ideas. Money will come once you create some value for other people.

According to research, average person uses around 1% of their abilities. If you increase utilization of your abilities by just 1%, statistically you will be as twice as efficient as the other person next to you.

The best example for this is that out of 160 people on this list, only 25 gave me their 15 ideas in exchange for 20,000 impression credits value of $90. These are clearly the people who are utilizing more than 1% of their abilities.
If you have not created at least 15 ideas, or if you have not at least one business idea in your head right now, you won't be able to continue with this workshop. Any step from this point on, will depend on your effort you have made so far.

Your Assignment

You can still try to catch up but as everything in life, it will be up to you to manage it on your own. It is entirely up to you if you take advantage of it.

For those who created their ideas, now is the time for the next step.

I would like you to pick 1 idea out of your 15 for the next step. Choose the one which you are most passionate about. We will work now towards determining whether the idea you have, has any demand and how much competition you already have.
Write down now about 20-30 different keywords which can be used to describe your idea.
Keywords are words or phrases which one might use to search the internet to find solution you might be offering.

e.g. If you would be offering "piano lessons", one could use following keywords to search,.

  • piano lessons
  •  online piano lessons
  •  music lessons
  • free piano lessons
  • beginner lesson piano
  • jazz lesson piano
  • book lesson piano
  • adult lesson piano
  • child lesson piano
  • beginner free lesson piano
  • group lesson piano

This exercise will help you to understand how people might be looking for your solution. Try to get in the head of that person who needs your solution and what keywords would they use to find you on the internet.

You can repeat keywords finding process for your other business ideas you have.
As you will find out later, the business idea which you have selected as a primary, might turn out to have very little demand or competition might be too strong. You want a product or service which has relatively good demand but little competition.
Remember come up with at least 20 different keywords.

Social networking the Kris Kringle way

Some people might be wondering at the title of this post “social networking the kris Kringle way” lol and I have to admit that I had thoughts on whether  I should  use a Christmas analogy on this piece ( its not Christmas), but the more I thought about it the more it made perfect sense as that is really what it is all about..giving and sharing.

Banner Advertising- Is it still working?

Banner advertising is not social!  There I said it and I’m glad that I did!  Many people who are in social media tend to turn their noses up at banner advertising citing such things as..you can’t engage with banners, they take up space, they are a waste of time, they are an eyesore, you cant trust them and yet they are still a valid way of advertising, they work and work well when and only when they are used properly. #Adlandpro

Your passion - E-Business Success Blueprint Workshop - Part 2

Refer to Part 1 here.

Next serious of exercises will concern so called "Business Creation" process. Your goal will be to determine what you want to do as your main business and to test if the business you have selected is a viable solution. You will test if there is demand for it and how much competition you have. All this will be done before you actually have your product or service ready. (If you have product or service already, you can apply the same techniques to ensure yourself that what you are doing is the right choice.) If you had the chance to read "E-Business Success Blueprint" you know that product or service creation is not the first item on the list of tasks in business development process. This here is the actual sequence.

1. Find a group of people to become your targeted audience.
2. Get to know your targeted audience by asking them what they need.
3. Develop solutions that they need.
4. Develop and implement an effective sales process.
5. Create and administer support and a customer friendly follow up system that encourages clients to purchase additional products.

Also you should spend about 80% of your time on formulating, testing, analyzing and promoting your business and only 20% on creation. The first step in deciding what type of business to own is to figure out what it is that you really love doing. By doing this, you’ll be one step closer to discovering the perfect business venture for you. If you skip this important step, you will be missing out on a wonderful growth opportunity as it truly influences how successful you’ll be in your business. Passion is the single most important thing in helping you get over the hurdles of disappointment.

As a fledging business owner, you will be required to learn new things. You’ll be forced to enhance and develop certain skills and you will uncover many obstacles along the way. This will not be easy and as such, you may even be tempted to give up. But, if you have passion, you will keep going. You will not slow down and will stay focused in developing your business and being actively involved in it. In essence, your passion will get you through the tough times and will encourage you. So now without looking what business you are already in and what you did in recent years, think of what it is really you would like to be doing even if you were not paid for.

What is the one or two things which would get you from your bed early in the morning and keep you busy till the end of the day and at the same time make you feel satisfied, focused and create sense of purpose. To help you with this assignment consider that you have only 24 months to live. Assume that there is nothing you can do to live longer than 24 months. The only things you can do is to use this 24 months to the maximum of its potential. Assume also that you have no money to travel to distant countries and you need to make a living to support yourself and your family.  Determine 2 or three things you would be doing even if you were not paid for. I hope this will be fun.

Can you afford $7.38 to receive 734 visitors through pay per click advertising?

A picture is worth a thousand words.

734 visitors for $7.38 (10,467,219 views)

Adlandpro Pay per click advertising

As you know getting customers to the site is only half of the battle.
The customer has to be willing to buy whatever you offer them.

You have to convince the customer that your product or service
is exactly what they need, and they need it now.

Sometimes even 10 minutes later might be too late, if they have
the chance to discuss it with someone who will plant seeds of
doubts in their minds.

I'm sure you are familiar with Pay per Click advertising.
I want to let you know that we have this kind of system,
which successfully delivers customers to our advertisers for years.

You might be also aware that for example Google Adwords,
the most known PPC advertising system around, is quite expensive
to use these days.

You can't find any reasonable keywords for less than $0.50 and
in some competitive areas even $2 or $20 is not enough to show
in the searches.

Here is my offer to you. Our system is not as popular as Google
Adwords, so our bids are much less competitive.
You can start advertising starting from $0.01.

Remember that a click is a click regardless of where the person
is clicking from, and you only pay if someone clicks.

Also our system is not incentivized like Google Adwords is
where publishers make money based on amount of clicks.

On our site, nobody gets paid for clicking on your ads.
Only interested visitors will click on it.

Heck, for this price you could just run a survey and ask your
customers if what you offer is of any interests to them.

By the way, instead of selling directly, try to get as much information about your visitors first, and then be more targeted.

I call it shooting ducks in the barrel.

So, happy advertising. The Link to order the PPC credits is here:

Design/Plan Your Entire Year - E-Business Success Blueprint Workshop - Part 1

Refer to Introduction here.

Hello again,

I hope you had written down all accomplishments and not-so-good accomplishments in your four areas of success during previous year. Spiritual, Relationship, Health and Business.

Remember all those areas will contribute to your success. If you are feeling like some of those areas have been neglected more than others, this next assignment will be about improving it. I know that many of you would like to dive into business world as this is one of the reasons you are reading it, but believe me taking time and designing your life with all its aspects is much more important than accomplishing just business goals.

"Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe." Abraham Lincoln

The next assignment is to design your next year in all 4 areas. You already know what worked for you last year and what didn't. Now write down all you want to do in next year in your four areas. Once you created list of general plans for a year, decide which of those steps you will complete in first 6 months of this year.

Once you are finished with this, right down your first 3 months of this year. When this is completed, write down your first month's plans for this year. Be truthful to yourself and realistic. Don't write down things which may be very ambitious but hardly doable. You will be only disappointed if you don't get close enough to what you want. E.g if your current salary is $40,000 a year. Don't plan to make $400,000 by the end of this year. If your goal will be $60,000 this is 30% increase which every successful business would consider as very solid accomplishment. Also be very specific.

The more specific you are the more likely you will be able to accomplish what you want. The important part of this process is to write down all your plans. 8 years ago I have read a book by Brian Tracy where he told me to write down my goals. Guess what, they all happened. He teaches that there was an experiment done at Harvard University where students were told to write their goals. Bear with me as I take those numbers from memory, but this will give you a general idea. It turned out that only around 3% of them wrote their goals. 10 years later those students were contacted and interviewed. All students who were in these 3% were making income at least 5 times higher than any student out of 97% remaining percent. 1% of the students out of the 3% group was making 10 times more than anybody else.

When you write down things, you are making it official. You also have to concentrate on things which you want to right down and then you start seeing them better. This acts like brainstorming session where you are the only one who participates. In addition things which are written down make you accountable. You know that this goals are written down somewhere and when you read it next year, you don't want to disappoint yourself.

In addition your subconscious mind is registering this and does work for you, much like with driving a car. Notice that sometimes when you drive, you don't even remember what happened while you were driving. Your subconscious took care of your driving. Isn't this wonderful? So now, if you want that things happen to you, write them down.

For example my just high level plans in four areas for this year are.

Spiritual

  • Meditate each day for at least 20-30 minutes
  • Read one fiction/entertainment book each month
  • Go to the movies/opera/museum once a month
  • Read one biography each month

Relationship

  • Go out with my wife twice a month
  • Go to the park/walk with the entire family each Sunday
  • Visit friends at least once a month
  • Talk to family in Poland at least once a month

Health

  • Keep my weight goal
  • Go to the gym at least 2-3 a week
  • Run at least 2 times a week
  • Take my vitamins
Business
  • Look for partners and  like minded people
  • Get into social network world and use it to grow my business
  • Run at least one promotion each month
  • Run or participate in at least one seminar
  • Make my business available for mobile market
So as you see these are very high level goals which I'm then breaking down into more specific goals in the 6, 3 and then one 1-month scale. On top of this I have daily goals which I make day before. Again, if you want things happen for you, write them down. What doesn't get written down, won't happen.
It is now important that I get your feedback here and you give me your high level goals of yours for the next year.

The next step soon.

E-Business Success Blueprint Workshop - Introduction (Can your last year's failure be this year's success?)

Some years ago I have offered workshop on successful business creation for limited group of members. I've been in online business since 1998 and I can easily admit that I have failed as many times as I have succeeded. Probably I failed more times than succeeded but it doesn't feel that way if you have something you can enjoy. There were numerous ideas which never took off even after considerable effort and time invested and there were ideas which with little initial investment worked and were quickly embraced. During the period since 1998 till now (Feb 2013) (this is 14 years) various technologies have changed and  many new concepts were created in order to reach customers and to reach the appropriate group in most efficient way with least cost and time. What didn't change is the psychology of humans and principle of motivation and bases of person success.

The course which I have offered addressed both issues. Technology and psychology of an individual and psychology of the crowd. In oder to use technology in most efficient way, one has to understand basic principles of human behavior. The best technology won't be helpful if we don't know where to apply it.

In addition understanding of the psychology of business success is need for the person who is embarking on the path of success. To succeed one needs to have desire to succeed and this is all which matters at the beginning. The one has to decide on some basic goals, write them down and stick to it. Read them daily and enhance them along the path.

Later on, one can refine the goals and even adjust them, but this is when new knowledge and experience is already available after many stumbling blocks.

To sum it up, one has to start doing something and the easiest is to first write it down and then start executing it according to some schedule.

So lest go to introduction of my E-Business Success Blueprint Workshop.

Can your last year's failure be this year's success?

Part of planning and setting goals is a retrospective look back to analyze what in our lives didn't go the way we wanted in the past. Consider what went good as expected, what went better than expected and what went totally wrong. When we talk about business goals we tend to forget about our other areas of our lives, like health, relationship and our spiritual world.

For today's assignment let’s analyze our last year and put it into perspective. The purpose of this is not to criticize our bad moves or get overly excited about our successes. This exercise will help us determine what contributed to our success and what contributed to our failure so we can use this information in coming year.

When you analyze this, think about these four major areas of your life. Mental, Relationship, Health and Financial. All these above areas have to be balanced. If any of them receives less of your attention, your life won't be a total success. If even one of the areas is neglected, you won't be able to enjoy your 3 remaining areas. Quite often, the most neglected areas are health and relationship. We tend to leave those for the last and most of the time we are too tired to take care of them. Think how you fared in all four areas.

Mental -- Have you spent enough time reading light books and inspirational material? Have you relaxed as often as you should? Have you gone to places where you can rest uninterrupted and reflect on your life? Have you gone to church (if you are religious) as much as you wanted to?

Relationship --Have you spent enough time with your spouse, mate, parents and kids. Did you go to the movies together? How often have you told your loved ones that you love them? How often have you told your loved ones about what you love in them? Have you spent enough time with your friends? How many friends do you have? If you can't think of any friends, or there are just a few, this is troubling area.

Health -- Have you exercised regularly? Are you eating healthy and avoiding foods which make you sick? Are you overweight or out of shape? What have you done to improve your health problems?

Financial -- Have you made as much money as you wanted? Have you spent enough time to learn skills or knowledge which would give you an edge over your coworkers and competition. Have you created partnerships and joint ventures to increase your business? Once you go over those points, this will be around 50% or more work done for your next year's goals. The most important part is to ask the correct questions. If you can ask the question, there will be an answer. You might not like the answer but this is what you need to make your life more balanced and fulfilling in this coming year. If you skip this section of our mentoring process, this is like skipping the foundation of your building. You can proceed with building of the house but it will tumble down probably one day or you even won't start it as because the foundation will be missing and there won't be enough motivation to continue. Get your thoughts flowing and this will be an eye opener for you.

You will be surprised.

Next lesson....
