Common Sense Marketing

Is there such a thing as common sense marketing?

Have you ever wondered how many ways you can market?
There is
direct marketing
email marketing
social media marketing
network marketing
but have you ever  thought about
common sense marketing?
Well I had a chance to think about this form of marketing when I was talking to an Adlandpro member (BJ Williams)  asking for a bit of help as I was having a problem thinking of something to write about ( it happens at times)
Because I used the common sense marketing approach (unwittingly) I  had asked BJ Williams to give me some ideas to write about and then I fine tuned it to if you were wanting an answer to a marketing question what would it be?

Scams, Scammers and Scam-busters

Scams are done by scammers; we know that, but what happens when the scam-busters are also the scammers?
Scammers are always on the lookout for people to fleece. If they think they can make a buck off someone, they will try, no matter how desperate and broke that person might be.

Scams still abound, scammers still hustle their scams, and there still aren’t enough real scam-busters to go around.
Why do scammers exist, in the first place? Why aren’t they extinct already?
The answer is, because it’s just so darn easy and lucrative for people with no conscience to scam those who aren’t paying attention. It’s so darn easy, because it’s so easy to find the people who aren’t paying attention.
There are those who genuinely do their own due diligence, and want to see the real scammers driven from the internet (and the planet!!)
There are those who want someone else to do the work of due diligence for them, because they don’t really know how to do it, or they are unsure of their own abilities and cannot afford to get scammed.

Email Marketing Resources

Email Marketing resources for the affiliate marketer.

Regardless of whether you are running a small business or as an affiliate marketer creating an affiliate business, email is still a very viable and needed method for marketing your products and services.
Unfortunately, email marketing is also complicated as you have to consider such things as
~ What is the right message you want to send
~ Does the subject line convey the right message that people will want to know more
~ How are you creating an imagery for your readers?Email marketing is not just about the words you use but the imagery you are conveying –
The issue of creating, maintaining and building your lists and lets not forget that you need to measure the outcome of any email you send!
Everything is important and needs to come together so that your customer or subscriber will receive the email at the proper time!
The subscriber will open the email!
The subscriber will receive a good call to action!
(with the “ultimate goal” of the customer buying from you and not the bloke down the street!)
To clarify the last point – while the ultimate goal is for the customer to buy from you, you should never confuse the email with a landing page and many people do just that.
To keep it simple or using the K.I.S.S principle, your email copy is about getting people to click on your offering ( or selling the click) the landing page is about selling the product or service.

Subject Line

Subject Line: Why’s He Got a Turnip in his Pipe?

By Dave Cottrell
Subject line – Why’s He Got a Turnip in his Pipe? Did that make you a bit curious? If you got that subject line in your email, would you open it? Could you resist opening it? Good!

Dr. Suess is very familiar to many of us. If you are under a hundred years old and you have children or grandchildren, you probably read books to them written by Dr. Suess. “The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, Go, Dog, Go,” are just a few of the familiar titles. How does Dr. Suess help you in getting people’s attention?
Copy writing is a skill that can make all the difference between making a sale or not, but unless you get people’s attention, first, the best copy in the world is just not going to get read.
Dr. Suess, used to do things like walking onto a bus “smoking” a pipe with a turnip in it. People would come up to him and ask him why he was smoking a pipe with a turnip in it! His answer was simple. “So that people will ask me why I have a turnip in my pipe!”
What a great way to start a conversation!!
This is what we’re all trying to do when we create a headline, an email subject line, a tweet or a share on FB and any other social media we use.

Free Tracking Services|Alternative to StatCounter

Have you been looking for free tracking services other than Statcounter?   Here are some alternatives for you to think about.

When it comes to having your own blog or website, one of the fundamental tasks you should be doing is analyzing how your site is running.
By looking into the details of who is visiting your site and other important stats such as where they are from, the times they come and how they behave when on your site is going to be very important so that you can give the right information, the right service and even the right product to fit your reader ( users) needs.
The reason for this post is because a question was asked by one our Adlandpro members ( BJ Williams) on the affiliate support  group on Adlandpro, where the talk of tracking and free tracking  services are being talked about.
BJ was wondering if there are other great free tracking services (systems on the web).

eBay Seller tips

eBay seller tips that might be of use to you

When it comes to using Ebay for selling and buying, I can confess outright that I am less than a novice.
I did manage to get my courage up to buy a product a year ago and talk about being nervous- let me count the ways lol.
While that may sound very silly to people who buy and sell on eBay on  a frequent basis, it’s a very normal feeling for those who have never done it and have few concepts on what to expect.
Now I know there are a lot of people who are using eBay for selling and making a good income from it and I have to admit that selling on eBay  has been a topic of interest for me since I bought that product ( P.S it came within a couple of days in the original packing and has been working like a charm since I got it.)
Considering how many of these “same” products were on eBay, I had to question myself, what drew me to that particular listing of the “adobe PDF maker” where I felt that this was the best listing for me and where I said “yes” to buying this product.
I think there were a few factors to be honest, of course there was the price ( which was decent- but not the cheapest) to the title, the  description  and the images that were shown.

Take the Marketing Challenge

Take the Marketing Challenge, if you dare!

by Dave Cottrell

Take the marketing challenge;  it could change your life.

I have a challenge for you that I think the majority of people trying to make money online should really take me up on.  I’ll tell you more about that in a minute.
First, let me get this off my chest…
Once again, I open my mail and see yet another program being promoted by fiends - I mean “friends” from various popular social media communities who will probably NEVER make a thin dime with it, but who WILL pay money out of their pockets to the parent company, WILL put money into the pockets of someone in their upline, and WILL end up being disillusioned once again about network marketing in general.
Yes, I am speaking of yet another powerline opportunity, where all you have to do is join and you will make an unbelievable fortune with no work and no money ever… Right after you first buy this nice bridge I have for sale…

What will you say?

“What will you say” is a strange title for a blog post, but it will make sense by the time you have finished reading…

Have you ever played with Google Search, typing in different phrases to see what is being said about different topics? Every once in a while I will, in part for entertainment and in part for research. It can be quite an eye opening experience.
For example, when you type in the phrase “affiliate marketing is scam” on my computer it says there is about About 1,080,000 results or how about “affiliate marketing is a waste of time” ( I have heard that one quite often) according to Google there are about 1,690,00 results. That is a lot of unhappy people folks

Success Isn’t Everything

Success isn’t everything, and in fact, it only happens for a mere moment in time; then it’s gone, forever. If it’s the only thing you live for, your life is not going to be all it can be.
If you go to any sales training seminar, you’ll hear over and over again that you have to set goals, that you have to have a success-driven attitude.
You hear that success is everything. You need to concentrate completely on reaching your goal. Nothing can be allowed to get in the way: Not family. Not friends. Not sleep. Not recreation. Not health….
What a foolish way to live! If you give up all these to reach your goal, in other words, to win, you won’t have much

Three Email Tracking Services for Marketers

Do you know what email tracking is? Email tracking is a way to monitor the email delivery sent to another person. For those of you in the know, I’m sure you have your favorite or best email tracking service or software, but to those of you who are not familiar with this kind of service then read on..oh and even though you might have a favorite, maybe one of these three tools will interest you.

I just read an article via a Alexis Kleinman who wrote an article back in February this year ( 2014) where she was horrified by a new “app” The application in question is a Google extension is  called Streak and when installed it lets you know when someone has read an email you sent in other words it is an email tracking system.  Streak is considered a productivity tool that you can get from the Google webstore and I have to say that it is pretty impressive! Some of its attributes are
- keep track of status, notes and details of each customer.
- see every email between a customer and your team, right in your inbox
-schedule those crucial emails for the times when they’ll have the most impact
-and of course  it has the ability to track emails in your inbox.
I have to say that while I can understand  a bit of concern, I am still trying to find out why it is horrifying

Friday News|Sharing Adlandpro - Jun 27, 2014

Starting out this Friday news is a question to those of you who are not on the Wall on a regular basis ( and of course to those who are)..
A Member ( Hafiz) made  a suggestion that the $200.00 credit contest reward be split up among more users. In effect this would mean that everyone who collected a minimum of 600 points would share in the $200.00 reward.
A lot of members have come in and voiced their thoughts and opinions and for that I say thank-you. I feel the more people who come in and talk about these issues, will help in coming up with a good solution for all. This has always been a strong point to Adlandpro, that we can talk to each other and come up with solutions.
My personal opinion is Participation will happen if the thread or the content is of interests to some group of people. Even more if the content or conversation is solving a person’s problem or allowing/encouraging people to voice their opinions on important topics or gives them platform to find like minded people.
Your thoughts are very important so please join this conversation and lets see what we can come up with. The thread to this conversation is here

QZZR and the marketing Quiz

A Marketing quiz using Qzzr

Is this a blog post about a new tool or resharing a marketing quiz?
I guess its a little bit of both to be honest.
On Monday June I had created a blog post titled “A Marketing quiz” and although the questions being asked were good ( or I think they were good lol), the fact is this quiz was not interactive.
Chuck Bartok, mentioned this fact (thank you Chuck) and he was right to do so.
As you can see at the bottom of this post I have corrected the issue and have redone the quiz so that is it now interactive.
The fact is that when you are a blogger or a marketer, finding ways and means to create interest and exposure is important and anything that will hold a readers interest  and want to know more is an important part of creating a good marketing strategy.

A Marketing Quiz

Starting the week off with a marketing quiz to get the juices flowing!

How many of you are told that you are lucky to be working at home and how much freedom you have?
Personally when I have been told that, I laugh a lot as the reality is that a lot of work goes into making any kind of living with “internet marketing” or having a home business.
While you may not have to go to the office everyday, without adhering to a fixed schedule and having a good work ethic, I feel it safe to say that you will not have much success.
